Prof. Dr. Timo Grimmer is a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist and an Associate Professor working as a Specialist Registrar at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University of Munich, School of Medicine, Munich, Germany. Dr. Grimmer is head of the Centre for Cognitive Disorders, which specializes in early and differential diagnosis of patients with cognitive impairment. The main focus of his research is assessing the usefulness of biomarkers in predicting neurocognitive disorders. He has authored numerous peer reviewed articles, amongst others the first studies that assessed the utility of amyloid PET for differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and to track Alzheimer’s disease progression (>750 impact points, H-index: 33). In addition, he served as a national coordinating investigator and as a principal investigator in more than 70 drug trials including all monoclonal antibodies against cerebral amyloid load so far.
