Emmanuel has over 30 years of experience in international policy, government affairs, public affairs, and strategic communications.
At Pfizer, Emmanuel is responsible for advocating for Pfizer’s public policy positions and priorities in markets outside the United States. He represents Pfizer in advocacy engagements with government officials, global policy makers, and other policy stakeholders, supporting Pfizer senior executives on the same.
Emmanuel joined Pfizer in 2024 from Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), where he served as Vice President and Head of International Policy & Government Affairs. In that role, he led a global team across multiple countries to shape the international policy environment, drive engagement with governments, engage on high-impact legislative issues in capitals, and support growth in all markets outside the U.S.
Before joining BMS in 2019, Emmanuel held roles as Executive Director, Head of Government Relations & Policy for Worldwide Markets at Celgene; Head of International Government Relations and Public Affairs at Shire Pharmaceuticals; and Executive Director of European Biopharmaceutical Enterprises at the European Pharmaceutical Industry Federation. Emmanuel holds degrees in molecular biology and biotechnology from the Free University of Brussels and received management education at Northwestern University in Chicago. He lives in Brussels with his wife and four teenage children.
