Jason Sterne leads Gilead Sciences policy advocacy and alliance relations for oncology. In this role, he is responsible for building and enhancing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders. Through the development of coordinated policy advocacy strategies targeting unjust patient barriers, Jason advances solutions that promote an inclusive, responsive, and equitable care delivery system and health innovation ecosystem. Jason has over 20 years of experience in both the nonprofit and corporate sector leading strategic planning, care delivery, and policy development. Before joining Gilead, Jason ran a national nonprofit organization committed to improving the health of marginalized communities impacted by infectious diseases and substance use. Prior to that, he ran a global NGO focused on improving maternal and newborn health in low- and middle-income countries. Jason is an active member on several committees fighting to end the HIV, HCV, and opioid epidemics, promote equity in aging, and dismantle the underlying structural and discriminatory barriers that reinforce health inequities.
