Director for Social Affairs in the General Directorate for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion at the European Commission
In the past, Katarina has served as a State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Pensions of Croatia. Over the past 20 years, her duties have been linked to the promotion of human rights and gender equality, social policy and employment.
She joined the European Commission last year. She is now responsible for the modernisation of social security systems and social policy, supporting social and labour market inclusion. She is also in charge of the monitoring of employment and social policies in 8 Member States, including Finland, and for the effective implementation of ESF and FEAD in these 8 countries.
