Dr. Kita is Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations. Prior to joining the Permanent Mission, he was Senior Coordinator for Global Health and Director of the Office for Global Strategy of Medical Service and Health Industry in the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare of Japan. He has also served in the Yamaguchi Prefectural Government, and as a Medical Officer for Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the WHO’s Global Malaria Programme.
Dr. Kita received his MD from MIE University School of Medicine in Japan, his MPH from Yale University School of Public Health, and his MPA from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Public Policy, and his work has been published in numerous global publications.
