Dr. Alexia Zurkuhlen was appointed as the new executive board member and managing director of the Kuratorium Deutsche Altershilfe – Wilhelmine Lübke Stiftung starting September 1, 2024. Before her current position, she was the executive director of the HealthRegion CologneBonn as well as deputy chairwoman of the board of the German Health Regions Network. Previous work experience includes the management of international health system strengthening projects, a research fellowship at Chatham House (UK) and lecturing consultancies at Charité and LSHTM.
Dr. Alexia Zurkuhlen received her PhD from the WWU Münster (Germany) where she explored the role of civil society in developing the EU’s “Global Health Strategy.” Before that, she completed an M.A. in European Integration, a Diploma inPolitical Studies in Strasbourg (France), and a B.A. in European Studies at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
