Simon Bottery

The King’s Fund is an independent charity that works to improve health and care in England. Simon leads The King’s Fund’s work on adult social care, including writing its annual summary of the state of the sector, ‘Social Care 360’.

Before joining The King’s Fund in September 2017, Simon spent almost 10 years as Director of Policy at the older people’s charity Independent Age, researching and campaigning on issues including care home quality, unmet needs for care, social care funding and the social care workforce.

Simon has wide experience in policy, communications and journalism, including as Director of Communications at Citizens Advice. He has also worked for the development charity ActionAid, in the commercial sector for Guinness and in BBC local radio. He is a trustee of the learning disability charity ActionSpace.
