Everywhere around the world, the caregiving sector is one of the fastest growing segments of the economy, due to the aging of society and resulting increased demand for care. The potential of the care economy is unlimited, creating opportunities for job growth while contributing to more efficient and more personalized care. The caregiving workforce is a critical linchpin in the future of long-term care systems, healthy aging and the sustainability of the Silver Economy, but policies, practices and perceptions need to change to achieve this potential.
