Dr. Todd Haim serves as the Director of the Office of Strategic Extramural Programs at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), which coordinates NIA training, career development and small business funding programs. Todd leads the development of initiatives to foster and accelerate commercialization of innovative products that address aging and Alzheimer’s Disease as well as efforts to support career development of aging researchers. Under Todd’s leadership, NIA’s seed funding programs have grown to provide ~$150M per year in non-dilutive funding in aging research and dozens of awardees have raised significant follow-on investment, obtained key regulatory approvals, and/or reached commercialization. He oversees several efforts to elevate the impact ofNIA’s small business seed funding programs (namely SBIR and STTR) and career development programs. His previous position was Program Director at theNational Cancer Institute’s SBIR Development Center. Todd graduated from AlbertEinstein College of Medicine in January 2007 with a PhD in biomedical research and obtained a certificate in technology commercialization from John Hopkins’Carey Business School in 2011.
