Organized by GCOA, Bank of America, and Home Instead Senior Care, this Symposium helps to usher in the WHO and UN’s Decade of Healthy Ageing (2020-2030). Building on the success of GCOA’s first-ever Silver Economy Forum in Helsinki in 2019, this 2020 Symposium will gather stakeholders and a foremost group of leaders from across the aging, financial, and public health arenas, aiming to unleash the opportunities brought about by healthy aging and the growing Silver Economy.
The COVID-19 pandemic has illuminated many of the barriers to healthy longevity, with implications on financial planning, workforce engagement, and caregiving, for example. The megatrend of aging, however, continues to be an opportunity, but only if we appropriately plan and prepare.
As we embark upon the Decade of Healthy Ageing, it is incumbent upon us as advocates for dispelling outdated stereotypes about aging to shape a new mindset and collaborate toward actions that harness the power of healthy aging and the Silver Economy.
