The Global Coalition on Aging was invited to bring the issues highlighted in the Silver Economy Forum to the annual World Summit on the Information Society 2020. GCOA will create and implement the event's first-ever track on the role of Information Communication Technologies in our 21st Century Aging Societies. This year the Forum is a virtual event that began on June 22nd, 2020 with an opening session hosted by GCOA. The Forum will run through September 10, 2020.
Following the success of the Helsinki Silver Economy Forum, we are pleased to present the ICTs and Older Persons track at the world’s largest annual gathering of the multi-stakeholder ‘ICT for development’ community, organized in conjunction with a broad collection of United Nations agencies.
This track will address the role of technology in achieving healthier aging and how technology can help us build smarter cities, combat age-based discrimination, ensure financial inclusion of older persons, and support millions of caregivers around the world.
